What our graduates are doing now

Several of our butlers have recently taken up new positions and congratulations are in order.

Ron Boller has been appointed House Manager / Chef to an international theatrical couple. Ron will be responsible for setting up house in several locations as well as looking after an existing property so looks like having a challenging but interesting year ahead of him.

Craig Hammond has taken up a position as House Manager for an international corporate couple who entertain extensively when in residence and have plenty of projects in train for Craig to manage when they are away.

Tim Osborne has taken over from Wesley Tetuira as butler for another international corporate couple and as an additional responsibility, Tim will oversee staffing and general upkeep and presentation of a showpiece country property with the largest private gardens in the southern hemisphere.

Josh Buckley has been appointed House Manager / Cook to a family in the Cayman Islands and is excited at this new challenge after several years working in resorts as a hotel butler.

We wish all of them success and satisfaction in their new positions.

Coming Events

Want to discover great new table settings? Latest trends in floral arrangements? What’s new in food design? Then here’s an event for your diary.

RSVP Melbourne (9-10 May Melbourne Exhibition Centre) and RSVP Sydney (17 – 18 July Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre) are two free events that are worth attending.

Many butlers organise events and plan parties but don’t have ‘event’ in their job titles. RSVP is directed at people who organise events large or small, whether it’s a lunch or dinner for 6, or a launch for 6,000. Here is an opportunity to pick up some inspirational ideas and to source new products and top–end suppliers.

For a complimentary ticket to attend RSVP and for more information visit www.rsvpevent.com.au

Butler's Tip

Are you constantly re-pressing suit trousers because of creases created by hangers? This problem was recently raised by a frustrated house manager with a custom designed wardrobe where the suit trousers could not be hung by the cuffs.

So here is a possible solution. The insulating foam available at DIY stores used for lagging pipes can be cut to size and fitted over the trouser bar of your hanger. Extreme? Maybe, but just think how much easier it will be when your principal changes his mind about which suit to wear moments before leaving the house!

Stop Press!

2007 sees Australian Butlers celebrate 10 years in business! They said ‘It will never work’ and ‘Who, in Australia, would have a Butler?’. A decade later it’s a very different story – a major milestone has been reached and celebrations are in order.

The Australian Butler School celebrates its tenth year as an internationally recognized Training School for Butlers and Estate Managers and as a Government Registered Training Organisation, the only butler school in the world to hold this status.
